Wai Rejected

Terbentuknya Wai Rejected diakhir tahun 2006 berawal dari ide sekelompok mahasiswa Pontianak yang berkuliah di kota Malang yaitu Redo Sasnatra (Bass), Eka Budi P. (Gitar/BackVox), dan M. Andika Rachman (Drum), mereka kerap aktif manggung diacara kampus to kampus di Malang, nama Wai rejected sendiri tercantum seiring bergabungnya Achmad Chaidir (Vox). Wai Rejected sendiri diambil dari nama clothing salah seorang personel mereka, namun dalam perjalanan band nama ini memiliki semboyan ‘takkan ada penolakan terhadap musik yang penuh semangat dan mengandung kejujuran’.

Dan dari sinilah mereka mulai membawakan lagu-lagu ciptaan sendiri dengan warna musik garage, formasi ini berjalan selama setahun lebih sampai pada awal 2008 bergabunglah Yudha Guritno (Gitar/Back Vox). Dengan formasi 5 personil ini mereka mulai mengembangkan warna musik yang masih sesuai dengan genre Wai Rejected itu sendiri.

Morning Blue

Berdirinya Morning Blue dari keinginan untuk mempunya band sendiri yang bercorak ‘brit pop’. Yang akhirnya musik ini jadi dasar mereka ngeband. Para Personnelnya adalah : Yudis (drummer),Ino (bassist), Bima (vocalist), Fuad (keyboardist), Richi (guitar) dan Dinda (rhythm guitar). Dan pada tanggal 13 November 1998 ditetapkan sebagai hari terbentuknya band ini.

Nama Morning Blue sendiri baru ditemukan setelah mereka latihan. Fuad yang menggagas nama band ini, karena mudah diingat. Dan kenapa mereka pakai nama dalam bahasa Inggris? Alasannya karena, mereka punya keinginan untuk go-international. Kemudian formasi mereka berkembang lagi dengan Haris (keyboardist) menggantikan Fuad, serta Dinda yang tidak lagi bergabung.

Pada tahun 2000 mereka bersama band-band indie lain seperti Pablo Honey membuat album kompilasi yang bertajuk “Road Show”. Bahkan salah satu lagu mereka yang ada di album ini berjudul “Aku” sempat menempati posisi pertama di Prambors Nu Buzz di tahun 2000.

Akhirnya mereka berhasil mengumpulkan materi untuk album debut mereka. Dan album “INTRO” berhasil mereka rilis. Album ini terinspirasi dari perjalanan karir Morning Blue selama ini.

Sister Morphin

Mengapa Sister Morphin? Inilah pertanyaan yang seringkali diajukan orang saat mendengar nama ini. Sulit untuk menjauhkan prasangka yang umumnya mengaitkan nama tersebut dengan obat-obatan. Sebenarnya Sister Morphin hanyalah sebuah nama yang diambil dari judul lagu The Rollingstones, “Sister Morphine”, yang mereka tulis bersama Marianne Faithful. Nama itu dipakai hanya karena alasan kenangan cinta pertama. Cinta pada jenis musik semacam itu yang kemudian membawa kepada yang lebih dari itu. Herry menemukan judul yang tercetak di sampul kaset tua tersebut saat ia berumur 16 tahun dan mempergunakannya untuk nama bandnya semasa SMA. Karena tak ingat lagi ejaan yang benar, ia kehilangan abjad terakhir.

Tahun 2006, Yulia bergabung sebagai vokalis melengkapi Herry (gitar), Adi (drum) dan Andi (bass). Mereka merekam “That’s Better For Me”, dan mengirimkannya ke dalam kompetisi L.A. Lights Indiefest 2007, dan mereka berhasil hingga top 40 se-Indonesia. Tahun 2008 mereka mencoba lagi dengan formasi baru, yaitu Yulia (vokal), Herry (gitar), Dian (Keyboard) dan Sinung (kontrabass), mengirimkan lagu “Heaven Tonight” dan berhasil hingga Top 10.

Sister Morphin, terdiri dari orang-orang dengan latar belakang musik yang berbeda yang disatukan oleh hasrat yang sama pada blues. Namun semua berjanji memberikan warna terbaik dari masing-masing mereka untuk menghasilkan musik yang sederhana sekaligus indah. Jazz lunak dan blues yang tajam dan dingin. Sister Morphin berusaha bermain musik secara natural dan mudah dengan penjiwaan yang serius pada setiap penampilannya.

Sister Morphin juga berasal dari latar belakang etnis yang berbeda-beda. Mereka bertemu di Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. Herry, Dian dan Sinung kuliah di jurusan Etnomusikologi Fakultas Pertunjukan sementara Yulia di Desain Komunikasi Visual Fakultas Seni Rupa. Saat ini mereka semua berdomisili di Jogja.

Arcoirish

Arcoirish terbentuk sekitar tahun 2000, dengan formasi Lim (vocal), Edwin (gitar), Acut (bassist), Tius (keyboardist), dan Aldo (drummer). Di pertengahan tahun 2008, Aldo mengundurkan diri dari Arcoirish dan digantikan sementara oleh drummer additional, yaitu Yehu. Karena merasa cocok dengan permainan Yehu, akhirnya Arcoirish bersepakat untuk menyerahkan posisi drum kepadanya.

Arcoirish berasal dari bahasa Spanyol yang memiliki arti pelangi. Pelangi penuh dengan warna, lantaran setelah rintik itu terjun dan muncullah gerangan efek berwarna itu. Mejikuhibiniu mungkin adalah warna dasar yang sudah kita ketahui sejak lama, dengan satu titik berwarna putih Dari situlah ide itu muncul, karena sadar dengan musik yang Arcoirish mainkan sangat beranekaragam, sehingga Arcoirish merasa nama Arcoirish adalah nama yang tepat untuk mewakilkan musiknya.

Warna musik dari arcoirish adalah indie pop dengan sentuhan rock and roll dan pyschedelics. Arcoirish sendiri ter-influence dari The Beatles, Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, Fleet Foxes, Jimi Hendrix, Interpol, The Strokes, Oasis, Queen, Naif, The Clash, Joy Division.

Last Elise

LastElise bermula dari sebuah solo project yang didirikan pada 12 September 2006 oleh Surya -yang akrab dipanggil Uya- dengan format “synthesized accoustic”. Nama LastElise diambil dari tokoh fiktif yang muncul dari rasa penasaran terhadap karya Ludwig van Beethoven berjudul Fur Elise.

Awalnya Uya dibantu oleh Luthfan ‘Hell’ sebagai bassist. Uya tertarik untuk mengubah format band setelah melakukan “jam session” dengan Erwyn yang pada waktu itu masih menjadi drummer sebuah band Blues Jazz. Pertengahan tahun 2007 merupakan awal tebentuknya LastElise dalam format band. LastElise terinfluence oleh banyak ‘hal’ dan musisi karena ‘basic influence’ tiap personilnya sangat berbeda.

Konsep yang diusung LastElise adalah kejujuran dan kebebasan dalam berkarya tanpa tendensi apapun, dan menyebut aliran musiknya cukup dengan Alternative.

Tigapagi

Nama Tigapagi, diambil dari sebuah pandangan atau paradigma akan sebuah titik waktu, masa dimana semuanya akan segera diawali yang juga bersamaan dengan saat dimana semuanya sedang berakhir. Masa tergelap menunggu sebuah benih kecerahan.

Awalnya Tigapagi hanyalah sebuah penamaan dari sekumpulan karya-karya berupa track-track lagu yang telah di-bajak-kan dengan hasil cukup memuaskan di wilayah kampus daerah Bandung Timur sekitar tahun 2004 akhir lalu.

Karya-karyaTigapagi tersebut sebenarnya milik salah seorang mahasiswa bernama Sigit dan karya-karyanya tersebut direkam dengan menggunakan komputer sahabatnya, dan bukan komputernya sendiri. Setelah melalui proses berpikir yang cukup panjang Sigit pun mengajak dua orang kakak beradik sahabat terbaiknya Eko dan Prima. Di tahun 2006 terbentuklah sebuah formasi trio.

Kemudian dengan tujuan memperkaya dan memenuhi jiwa musik yang diciptakan, dua orang sahabat bergabung bersama Tigapagi. Mereka adalah Indra dan Alfa. Maka kini akhirnya Tigapagi telah menemukan raganya.

Kings of Convenience, Paul Simon & Arthur Art Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, bahkan nuansa Musik Soundscape dari nama-nama seperti Sigur Ros, Slow Dive, Cocteau Twins, Explosions In The Sky, atau bahkan Brian Eno adalah influence dari music Tigapagi, tak hanya itu musisi lokal seperti : Leo Kristi, Ebiet G Ade dan lantunan hangat Bimbo, harmoni-harmoni tradisional klasik Mang Uking Sukri. Dan perpaduan musiknya dimainkan secara serentak bersamaan oleh Tigapagi maka, mereka menyebutnya Musik Experimental Folk acoustic pop.

Vickyvette

Vickyvette terbentuk pada agustus, 2006. Saat itu para vickyboys masih bersekolah di bangku SMA kelas 2. Debut pertama Vickyvette saat itu adalah tampil pada acara kecil yaitu 17 agustus-an di SMA mereka. meskipun ini gigs yang bisa dibilang regional (intern) namun sambutan para penonton sangat baik dan welcome. Pada saat itulah mereka mulai membuat lagu sendiri dan mencoba mendengarkannya pada banyak orang dengan menyebarkannya secara sporadis melalui teman dan relasi.

Sambutan orang sangat variatif, itu membuat vickyvette lebih semangat untuk mengeksplor diri mereka dalam bermusik, melalui indierock/experiment mereka merasa cocok. Dan inilah formasi Vickyvette sebenarnya : M. Rayhan Sudrajat (guitar vokal), R. Prajadhipa Akbar (guitar), Ferdy Adriansyah (bass), M. Shadian Merwin (drum).

Nemesis

Berawal dari sebuah khayalan semasa kecil, bermimpi menjadi seorang rockstar. Nemesis berlima adalah teman-teman bermain sejak sekolah menengah. Masing-masing dari Nemesis memiliki kesenangan akan musik dan termotivasi dengan melihat band – band terdahulu yang telah sukses atas karya-karya mereka. Berangkat dari hal tersebut, nemesis membentuk sebuah band bernama TEARS CAME FALLING yang beraliran metal.

Saat itu Nemesis masih membawakan karya-karya band luar seperti Caliban, As I Lay Dying, It Dies Today, dll. Dengan line up : Rangga (vocal), Sahid (guitar), Sendi (guitar), Rega (bass), Ridwan ‘Dei’ (drum).

Dengan seiring waktu dan problematika perjalanan yang dilalui, band Nemesis mengalami reformasi dikarenakan kejenuhan dan rutinitas yang tak dapat ditinggalkan.
Setelah beberapa tahun berselang, salah satu personil Nemesis, Sahid (guitar) mengundurkan diri dikarenakan kesibukan akademik di kampus dan untuk sementara posisi ini diganti oleh rangga (vocal+guitar).

Pada tanggal 26 september 2007 TEARS CAME FALLING bermetamorfosis menjadi NEMESIS dan setelah berjalan beberapa waktu, formasi berempat ini terasa kurang maksimal, sehingga nemesis mengajak Jody di posisi guitar.

Dengan line-up tersebut Nemesis lebih eksploratif melalui influence-influence baru seperti Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, In Flames, Soilwork, Arch Enemy, All That Remains, Trivium, Lamb of God, Unearth, dan masih banyak lagi cukup memberikan nuansa metal yang sangat kental.

The Banery

Saat melihat penampilan mereka, kesan influence dari The Beatles terasa pekat. Tapi The Banery bukan sekedar band imitator The Beatles. Mereka membuktikannya dengan membawakan lagu “What it Said” dan “Karena Dia” ciptaan mereka sendiri dengan karakter mereka sendiri juga dan berhasil menerobos ke puncak LA Lights Indiefest 2008.

Yudi (vocal, gitar), Rafly (bass), Egy (gitar), Adam (drum), dan Odo (vokal, keyboard) sukses membawa The Banery masuk ke album kompilasi LA Lights Indiefest vol 3. Tidak hanya itu, mereka terpilih sebagai salah satu dari 3 besar lulusan LALIF 2008 yang akan dibuatkan full album.

Tanggal 6 Maret 2009 kemarin, The Banery bahkan sudah ditunjuk untuk tampil secara khusus membawakan sebuah konsep live music yang segar dan menarik. The Banery manggung di La Piazza membawakan 5 lagu dengan aksi panggung yang unik. Unik bagaimana? Penampilan The Banery di panggung dibarengi juga dengan “Ultra Violet dan Pantomim act on Stage”

Mereka kini sedang memasuki fase produksi full album dengan 9 hitsnya. Penggarapan album ini ditangani oleh myOyeah music dan di produseri oleh Krisna J Sadrach. Album mereka diperkirakan akan release bulan April 2009 dan didukung sepenuhnya oleh Universal Music Indonesia.

The Pink Panther 2 is a 2009 spy comedy film directed by Harald Zwart.^[2] It is the sequel to the 2006 film The Pink Panther, a reboot of the popular comedy series.^[3] The film was released on February 6, 2009 in North America.^[4] In the film, Inspector Clouseau must team up with detectives from other countries to rout the daring cat burglar, The Tornado, who has returned after a decade of inactivity. Steve Martin, who reprised the role of Clouseau, originated by Peter Sellers, polished the original script written by Scott Neustadter and Michael M, Weber in November 2006.^[3] Columbia Pictures, partnering with MGM on the sequel, hired the team of Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel to perform a further rewrite in January 2007.^[5] Principal photography began in Paris on August 20, 2007, then moved to Boston several weeks later, where filming ended on November 2, 2007.

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai appears as the criminology expert, Sonia Solandres. John Cleese replaces Kevin Kline as Chief Inspector Dreyfus with Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer reprising their roles as Clouseau's partner Ponton and Clouseau's girlfriend Nicole. Andy García,Yuki Matsuzaki and Alfred Molina round out the cast as detectives, Inspector Vicenzo Brancaleone, Inspector Kenji Mazuto and Chief Inspector Randall Pepperidge. It will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on June 23, 2009.

When the master thief, the Tornado, begins stealing expensive artifacts (the Magna Carta in London, the Turin Shroud in Turin, and theImperial Sword in Kyoto), the Government of France assembles a Dream Team of Amateur Detectives to solve the case. Inspector Clouseau is reassigned from his task as a parking officer by Chief Inspector Dreyfus to join the Dream Team in Japan, site of the Tornado's recent heist. At the airport, as soon as he is officially leaving France, news breaks that the Pink Panther Diamond has also been stolen. Clouseau travels back to the scene of the crime, where the other members of the Dream Team, Inspector Pepperidge (Great Britain), Vincenzo (Italy), Kenji (an electronics specialist from Japan), and Sonia (a researcher and criminology expert from India), are gathering. They go to Rome to investigate a black market fence, Alonso Avellaneda, who deals with The Tornado. Assuming he is The Tornado, the Dream Team question him while Clouseau snoops around. Avellaneda successfully vindicates himself by demonstrating that he lacks a bullet-wound to the right shoulder- the Tornado was shot in that shoulder during a theft over a decade ago. After they leave, he meets with The Tornado himself.

Later on that night, Clouseau and his partner, Ponton, spy on Avellaneda, using a wire they have planted on him, as he takes a date out for dinner. Unfortunately, the mission is compromised when they find Vincenzo and Clouseau's girlfriend, Nicole, together at the restaurant. Having been banned for burning down the restaurant three months earlier, Clouseau disguises himself as a dancer and attempts to switch the wire to Nicole's table. In the process, he ends up burning down the restaurant again. At the same time, The Tornado steals the Pope's ring, an act which begins to turn public opinion against the Dream Team. When Clouseau's acts of foolishness aggravate the situation, he is voted off the team, with only Sonia sympathizing with him. Shortly afterward, Clouseau is called to an office where they see the Tornado has killed himself, and left a suicide note claiming he destroyed the Pink Panther- regarding it as being so beautiful that he could not bring anyone other than himself to own it- and left the other treasures to be recovered. Examining a key they found in the Pope's Chambers, they successfully match the DNA of the victim with DNA of the Tornado acquired when he was shot, and thus believe themselves to have solved the case. However, Clouseau is unconvinced and believes the Tornado was not the thief.

For their victory in recovering the stolen items (minus the Pink Panther), a celebration is thrown in the Dream Team's honor. Clouseau, who was not invited, tries to convince Dreyfus that the real thief is still at large, but is ignored. Dreyfus relays to the group that Clouseau told him Sonia was the thief, and the group, treating the idea as a joke, work out a plausible explanation for how she could have done it; as the Tornado's ex-lover, she would have in-depth knowledge of his methods, and has set up a situation to draw all attention to the thefts of the other artifacts while leaving her free to sell on the Pink Panther as the only treasure that could be cut up and sold on without suspicion. As Sonia tries to leave, Nicole asks her to take everything out of her purse. Sonia pulls out a gun, and after initially threatening to shoot Nicole, she shoots Clouseau, but the bullet hits the medal of honor. She then runs upstairs. Clouseau and the rest of the Dream Team chase her all around the building, while they all (except for Clouseau) make fools of themselves. Finally cornered, Sonia threatens to destroy the Pink Panther, and Clouseau successfully goads her to do so. Clouseau reveals that she had destroyed a fake gem he had switched with the real one, and that the Tornado, a master thief and a recognized authority on valuable gems, would have recognized this; therefore, his suicide note- where he praised the beauty of the gem- was forged and he was actually murdered. He reveals that he had given Sonia's car a ticket two days before the Pink Panther was stolen, contradicting her alibi of having been delayed to the crime scene because of her flight. Dreyfus tries to claim credit for having appointed Clouseau to his parking job, but Clouseau, remembering Dreyfus told him to deny this to anyone who asked, rebukes the claim. Clouseau later marries Nicole.

The film has received overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics.^[6] As of June 14, 2009, Rotten Tomatoes reported that 12% of critics gave positive reviews based on 123 reviews.^[7] Per another review aggregator, Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the film received a 37% approval rating based on 28 reviews, as of February 7, 2009.^[6]

On its opening weekend, the film opened #4, grossing $12 million in 3,243 theaters with a $3,573 average.^[8] The film grossed $35,922,978 domestically and $39,948,054 in foreign countries totaling $75,871,032 worldwide.^[1]
